March 2020 Favourites

What a month March has been!  In some ways it has gone really quickly and in other ways it has been the longest month ever.  We started off the month with business as usual, and have ended it with home schooling/early school holidays, being unable to purchase a lot of things that we need, and then of course there is the up and down emotions and all the questions about what is going to happen.  We are very fortunate to have our health still and we get to spend more time together so that is definitely a silver lining at this point in time.  Anyway, I'm sure you haven't come here to listen to me babbling on about the coronavirus.  Let's chat all the good polish things from this month!

Nail Art
I think I went into this month thinking I was going to get a lot more nail art done than I actually managed.  But oh well.  I am extremely pleased with the manis that I did manage to do.  Let's hope April brings some more good nail art manis.

Stamping Plates
I think I briefly mentioned the Just For Claws plates from Uberchic Beauty but I didn't actually share the blog post until the start of this month which is why they are in my March Favourites.  We all know that I am a big fan of Uberchic plates and I love that they have put some of their previously released images onto a plate and enlarged them for those with long and wide nails.

Mainstream Polishes
This month I got to try out a new brand (well new to me anyway) - Candy Coat and got to start playing with some new things from Dance Legend.  I'm not sure if either of these brands are mainstream or if they are more indie but for today I am going to say they are both mainstream brands.

Candy Coat Mini Polishes
I was sent three mini polishes from Candy Coat to play with and I love them.  The formulas aren't a favourite but the colours are awesome and so fun to wear!

Dance Legend Adamant
Oh I am trying so hard to narrow down my favourites (Future Tracy will be very thankful) but I definitely couldn't go past Dance Legend Adamant.  I mean it's holo with flakies - AMAZING!

Indie Polishes
Now this is the time where I start to struggle to really narrow down these favourites - the indie girls are killing it still!

Emily de Molly March Releases
Every month without fail Emily de Molly release the most amazing polishes (which also includes their limited edition polishes that I don't always purchase purely from a lack of funds).  I can easily say that I love all of this month's releases but my favourites of favourites would have to be Past Present Future, Shades Of The Night, Be The Solution, Intensity and Consider The Source.

Grace-full Nail Polish War Of The Roses (Polish Pick Up March 2020)
Grace-full Nail Polish make some awesome each month for Polish Pick Up and War Of The Roses is one of them.  Heads up - April also has an amazing polish.  It will be on my blog tomorrow.

Grace-full Nail Polish Colourful Lyrics Collection
I love that Grace-full have released another rainbow collection.  They are just so pretty and will make from some great nail art!  I am hoping to get to use them in some nail art very, very soon.

That brings me to the end of today's post.  I hope you have enjoyed it.  Let me know what things you have loved this month.  Stay safe everyone x

OPI Infinite Shine Mexico City (Part) Collection - Swatches & Review

Last week I came home to some surprise nail mail.  I love when that happens.  It's always such a fun guess what is is inside the box.  Inside this surprise nail mail was some of the new polishes from OPI Infinite Shine Mexico City Collection.  I've actually seen swatches of this collection on Instagram and it has some great looking colours in the mix.  I have noticed that the Infinite Shine Collection only has ten shades vs the twelve shades that are in the regular formula.  I just thought I would mention that in case you had seen swatches of twelve polishes and wanted them in the Infinite Shine formula and couldn't find them.

Coral-ing Your Spirit Animal is described as a coral creme.  This is a nice colour especially for those warmer days (I say that as it is cold outside and I am sitting with a big jumper, pjs and fluffy socks on).  The formula was a little bit streaky on the first coat but it evened out beautifully on the second coat.

Mexico City Move-mint is described as a soft understated mint creme.  This one really surprised me!  Because it is such a light colour I was expecting it to be streaky and sheer.  While it isn't a one coater it really does have a great formula for such a light shade.  For my swatch I used two coats.

My Chihuahua Doesn't Bite Anymore is described as an orange creme.  This one definitely is more towards an orange toned red than orange if you ask me.  This one isn't really my sort of colour but I sense there will be many people who will love it.  The formula is great and is opaque in two coats.

I think this is a good collection overall especially if you are new to polishes.  There are definitely some good staple colours in there.  Of the three that I have tried I would say that Mexico City Move-mint is my favourite followed by Coral-ing Your Spirit Animal.

The Mexico City Collection is available now from Myer, David Jones and selected salons.

Emily de Molly March 2020 Releases - Swatches & Review

Emily de Molly are back with another new release and OMG it is amazing!  But do we expect anything else at this point in time?  Hayley was on fire last year with one amazing release after the other and 2020 is definitely shaping up to be the same.  Let's just get straight into the pretties shall we?

Be The Solution is a silver holographic micro glitters in a pale nude base with a purple aurora shimmer.  No surprise that I love this one.  It is sooooo sparkly (definitely more sparkly than what it looks in my swatches) and the colour is gorgeous.  It is a little on the sheer side so I need three coats.

Consider The Source is a mauve crelly base with blue and red iridescent flakes as well as silver holographic flakies.  Love, love, love!  The colour is gorgeous and those flakies!  The formula is great and easy to use.  I used two coats but question if I would need a third coat especially on longer nails.

Give The Act Up is a pale steel blue base with assorted iridescent flakes in blue, green and orange.  This is another really pretty polish.  Like with Consider The Source, the formula is easy to use and applies evenly.  I used two coats for my swatch but question if it would need a third coat on longer nails.

Intensity is an ultramarine blue crelly with white glitters.  Obsessed with this one!  The colour is AMAZING and the formula is fantastic.  No fishing or placement of the glitters is required.  For my swatch I used two coats.

Leaking Words is a pale blue (warm) to teal green (cold) thermal with orange/green iridescent flakes.  Such a pretty thermal.  I found that this did transition well but that the state differences were subtle.  It could just be the weather that was effecting the results.  The formula is easy to use and applies evenly.  It is a little sheer especially in the warm state so I used three coats for my swatch.

Makeshift Wings is a pale mauve/brown base with green to blue shifting aurora shimmer.  I'm seriously just repeating myself at this point but it's just the way I feel.  I am a big fan of this polish.  The formula is great and applies evenly and the colour is so, so, so pretty.  I did find it was a little sheer for me so I used three coats for my swatch but you could probably stop at two coats.

Past, Present, Future is a light navy base with pink, orange, gold, green shifting aurora shimmer and silver holographic flakes.  OMG!  OMG!  OMG!  Love, love, love this one.  This was actually the first polish that I wore from this release.  I loved it in the bottle and I love it on my nails.  The colour is gorgeous and so is the shift (it shifts better in person), plus the formula is great and easy to use.  For my swatch I used three coats.

Shade Of Night is a dark purple base with pink, orange, green shifting aurora shimmer.  What's another way that I can say that I love this polish?  I seriously need to find some new ways but anyway, I love this polish!  It's stunning!  There is definitely more of a shift than I could capture in my pictures.  The formula is great and easy to use.  I used two coats for my swatch, however I question if I would need a third coat on longer nails.

How amazing are each of these polishes?  I really feel for you guys having to narrow down your favourites.  If it helps my picks would be Past, Present, Future, Intensity, Shades Of Night, Be The Solution, and Consider The Source.  No matter what you decide you honestly can't go wrong.

The March 2020 Releases will be available Friday 27th March at 10am AEDT from Emily de Molly's Australian site and on Thursday 26th March at 7pm EDT from the international site.
