July 2019 Favorites

We have officially reached the end of July - which means a couple of things.  Firstly, it means we are over the half way point of Winter (woohoo!) and that it's nearly time for my daughter to start her gymnastics competition season.  She is super excited and hopefully it all goes well.  But with that said, she has back to back competitions in August so I may be a little bit MIA.  I am planning on doing the 31 Day Challenge in September (if it is still a thing - if not I may just do the prompts for fun) so I will definitely be making up for posts then.  Anyway, let's take a look at all the things I have been loving in July.

Nail Art

It's kinda funny - I feel like I have done a lot of nail art this month but it turns out I haven't done as much as I thought.  I have been doing LOTS of swatching (but apparently I haven't shared most of those swatches yet) though which is always fun.  But swatching doesn't help with the nail art section of my favourites posts.  These are the manis that I have loved this month.
      

Stamping Plates

I have played with a few stamping plates this month and while I do really like them all - there are two standouts for me. 
     

Moyra Stamping Colourbook Stamping Plate

There are sooooo many great designs on this plate and I have definitely had some fun playing with it.

Uberchic Beauty Nice & Negative Stamping Plate

If I could only pick one stamping plate for this post then is would definitely be it.  I absolutely love everything about this plate.

Mainstream Polishes

I mentioned earlier in this post that I have been doing a lot of swatching but apparently I haven't posted much at all this month.  Clearly I am dreaming about doing my nails and blogging....or perhaps it's more that I have things that haven't been released yet.  Either way, I have only played with one mainstream brand this month - Jessica Cosmetics.  While I think the Winter is a great collection I wouldn't consider it a favourite of mine.

Indie Polishes

The indie girls steal my heart yet again.  There is sooooooo much good stuff coming (prepare your wallets!) but again that doesn't help with today's post.  I have only shared two indie polishes this month and while I love both there is hands down only one favourite.
     

Emily de Molly All The Feelings 2.0

I am seriously OBSESSED with this polish.  It looks amazing over everything.  You will be seeing this polish a lot on my nails!
      

That brings us to the end of today's post.  I'm honestly a little surprised at how little I have to share this month.  Guess it is to be expected seems I haven't posted much.  Oops.  Sorry guys.  I would like to say I will have more next month but that will just depend on how I go for time. 

101 Untrieds (Polishes 34 - 37) - Swatches & Review

Once upon a time I set a little goal (or maybe not so little goal) to break out and wear 101 of my untried polishes.  Well somewhere along the lines I kinda got side tracked and forgot about it.  Oops.  But I am back at it again.  So far I have worn 37 (some of which I have to share with you today) of my untrieds which means I only have 63 to wear and about 16(ish) weeks to do it in.  That's achievable right?  I guess we will find out soon enough.  I think I am officially rambling now.  Let's have a trip back into the past....

Emily de Molly LE1 is a gorgeous purple shimmer with a pink/copper glitter.  I can not believe how long I have had this polish and have left it untried.  Clearly I have issues.  I really should have worn this years ago.  It's gorgeous and the formula is amazing.  It's close to being a one coater.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Void Shatter is a charcoal holo with purple flakes.  Oh how I have missed wearing Femme Fatale polishes.  I mean how great is this polish?  And the formula is great too.  For my swatch I used two coats.

Glam Polish Would You Believe? is a glitter topper filled with fine silver holo glitters, and mixed sized glitters in a variety of colours.  This is definitely a step back in time.  Who remembers a time when glitter toppers like this were everywhere?  I do.  It really doesn't seem like that long again but it really was.  Formula wise this is exactly what you would expect.  The bigger glitters need a little manipulation to get to sit on your nails but overall it was easy enough to work with.  For my swatch I used one coat over Emily de Molly Emmy 2.0.

Moonstone Nail Polish Radioactive is a violet shimmer with a subtle pink/blue colour shift.  I am not entirely sure if I have worn this polish or if I have just worn something similar.  Yet another reason why I really should get around to putting all my polishes on my blog.  It would be so much easier to find than having to scroll back through Instagram.  Anyway, formula wise this one is ok.  It's easy to work with but is really sheer which is disappointing.  I used three coats for my swatch, however it is still quite see through at the tips.  Really pretty colour and shift though.

I didn't actually realize until now that I have kinda been grabbing the same sorts of colours when it comes to my untrieds this time around.  Oops.  Luckily for me they are all very different.  I'll have to dig a little further through and see what other colours and finishes I can find.

Uberchic Beauty Nice & Negative Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Happy Friday everyone! I don’t know about you guys but I am very much looking forward to the weekend.  Anyway, today I have my favourite of the two new Uberchic plates to share with you - the Nice & Negative stamping plate.  I’ve always been a massive fan of negative space images (you can have so much fun with your bases - and bonus points for when you make a slight error in the base because the image usually covers it) so this plate is right up my alley!

When I sat down to start swatching this plate I honestly didn't know where to start.  There are sooooooo many amazing images and the ideas just started coming.  First up I thought I would go for something simple (mainly because I had new polishes to play with and have been dying to put this colour combination on my nails).  For my base I used Emily de Molly LE167 and All The Feelings 2.0 and stamped using Powder Perfect's Black Stamping Polish.

Now it really isn't a negative space mani without a multi coloured base is it?   I went for my go to sponged backgrounds (oh how I love these!) using the Pretty Serious Cosmetics Pastel Pets Collection (the first ones - they are the best).

I'm sure at this point in this post you will be able to tell that I love this stamping plate.  Really there are only so many things that I can say.  If you love negative space images then I highly recommend this one.  The images are just sooooo good.  I am excited to play with this plate some more.

Uberchic Beauty Nauti But Nice Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Before we jump into today's post I just want to apologize for the lack of posts in the recent weeks.  Life has been crazy busy for me and nail time just doesn't seem to be happening.  Never fear - I am not going anywhere.  I just need to catch up a little and get ahead.  Now let's talk about fun stuff - all things nails.  Uberchic Beauty have recently released two new stamping plates - Nauti But Nice and Nice & Negative .  I have both of these plates and I will definitely be sharing them with you - starting today with the Nauti But Nice stamping plate.

My eyes were drawn to these heart rope images (both the horizontal and diagonal images) and I just had to use them.  I was going to do some form of red or blue to stick with the nautical theme but I am sooooooo happy that I went with pink instead.  I am completely in love with this mani (although I do think it looks better in person).  For my gradient I used Powder Perfect Pale Pink Stamping Polish and Dance Legend Pink Stamping Polish and stamped the rope design with Hit The Bottle's Snowed In.

New polishes + a new stamping plate = a new mani.  I thought that Emily de Molly's LE169 was the perfect colour to use with this plate - especially mattified!  Oh how I love matte nails.  Now I did have a little trouble with stamping this image.  I'm not sure if it was because my stamping polish (Hit The Bottle Whiskey Latte) had seperated, if it was too warm in my house (I had the heater on) or if it was the image that was stopping it from transferring in full.  It could have been a combination of all of the above.  With that said, because of the finer details in this image you may need to work a little bit quicker.  

I'm not really into the whole nautical thing (unless it's for nail art challenges but I don't really do those anymore - although I should start considering if I do the 31 Day Challenge in September.  Let me know your thoughts on that) but I quite like this plate.  I think there are some really cool rope designs and I do really like the manis I have done with this plate.

Moyra Stamping Colour Book Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

This post has been a long time in the making that's for sure.  I originally purchased the Moyra Colour Book back in May (or maybe it was April) and for one reason or another I never finished swatching it until now.  Oops.  I struggle to keep up with myself sometimes but I always catch up in the end.

There is something about this plate that screamed colours to me (maybe that is why it is called the colour book stamping plate) which naturally means neons.  For my base I used That's Shore Bright, Purple Panic and Flip Flop Fantasy and stamped using Powder Perfect's Black Stamping Polish.

I was swatching some new Emily de Molly polishes and I fell in with this base so much so I didn't want to take it off.  My solution - stamp over it.  I love how this mani turned out.  It's so pretty.  For my base I used Emily de Molly All The Feelings 2.0 over Emily de Molly Micro-structure and stamped using Hit The Bottle Snowed In.

I really like this stamping plate.  I think the images are great and they all stamp beautifully.

Hello!  How are you all?  I unintentionally took a week off from blogging last week - sorry.  It wasn't completely a nail free week though.  I was definitely still doing my nails - but that was mainly swatching some up coming things (which prepare your wallets - there is some seriously AMAZING stuff coming!).  I have also playing with two of the new polishes from Emily de Molly that were recently released.  These polishes were released along side some other revival shades (I own the originals of each of the polishes) and some limited edition creme polishes (which I have on my way to me - so I will be sharing those with you soon).  Just a heads up before we get into these polishes - this post is quite picture heavy but all the pictures are very much necessary. 

All The Feelings 2.0 is a red to green fine particle aurora shimmer topper.  This polish is absolutely AMAZING!  Words can't express how much I love this polish.  I am obsessed.  It looks awesome over dark colours and lights colours and everything in between.  The formula is amazing and applies like a dream.  My swatches show one coat over Emily de Molly Fade Into Black and one coat over Emily de Molly Mirco-structure.

Now just for fun I thought I would add the original All The Feelings over the top and I'm completely obsessed.  I love both of these polishes individually as well as together.  If you don't own the original All The Feelings then I highly, highly recommend grabbing it along with 2.0.  You can find my swatches of this polish here.  You then need to wear them together - it's so good and even better in person. You can thank me later.

Copper Patina 2.0 is a dusty sage green base with strong copper to gold shifting shimmer.  I definitely prefer this version to the original (don't get me wrong I really like the original - but this one is better in my opinion).  I really like how the shimmer stands out in this one.  There is also a gold shift but I really struggled to capture it.  It is there though.  Formula wise this polish is great.  It applies evenly and is easy to work with.  I used three coats for my swatch, however you can easily stop at two coats.  I just found it was a little see through at the tips for my personal taste (aka I'm fussy).

I love both of the shades but if I had to pick only one to buy then it would hands down be All The Feelings 2.0.  You can guarantee you will be seeing this polish time and time again.  I want to try it over EVERYTHING!  I think I may need to get back up bottles of both of the All The Feelings polishes...
